Located in the Upper East Side Historic District of Manhattan, the repairs at 565 Park Avenue required approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The front façade of this 12 story, 102 years old building consists of masonry and decorative terra cotta stones. During the façade restoration several spalled stones where replaced with precast stones that matched the original in color, texture and profile. Merritt was able to salvage many of original cracked stones by pinning them and injecting repair grout into the cracks.
