In 2009 Merritt Engineering began façade and roof restoration projects at Holy Cross High School, an all-boys Roman Catholic high school in Queens NY
The gymnasium roof was replaced first, utilizing a modified bitumen roofing system with liquid applied flashing. Phase II included the restoration of the rear and side facades, which took place in 2009 and 2010.
In 2011, Phase III was underway. During this phase, Merritt designed and specified the restoration of the school’s front façade, as well as the replacement of the north and south roofs. New pavers were installed at the second floor level terraces, providing a new functional outdoor space for faculty.
Sensitive to the school’s day-to-day operations, Merritt carefully planned each phase to ensure minimal disruption to normal school activities.
